well i've been delaying this post for a long time. i meant to do it before i went to miami, but i was lazy, just like i was when i didn't capitalize anything. basically miami was a really long drive, the service was really intense, i got really really tired, then i drove home in time for a chem test. i wish that homework was lightening up for dead week, but its crashing down on me like water around a drain. except its clogged so i'm fucked

alright, so last week i made quite a few phone calls. i found out that my other two service interests cancelled on me. surprise. so then this week i continued to not capitalize and i also turned in my application to the mental health america on state street in lafayette. they said they would call on tuesday, they didnt. i called them wednesday, and then i went down and visited them thursday.... and still nada from them. cold shoulder 11/10 :(
right now, i need to do all day saturdays, and monday and wednesday nights to actually meet my requirements...

anyways, more homework now that i've finished all my tests

ho ho! volunteer stuff finally confirmed!
after calling basically everyone on the list at http://www.cfs.purdue.edu/safefood/searchOnlineDirectoryResults.asp?searchBy=ORGANIZATION%20COUNTY&searchFor=Tippecanoe, i finally managed to secure a spot at the mental health association. seems its a fitting place for me anyways. i'm going to hopefully work long hours in their soup kitchen like a boss. i also decided to stop trying to write all pretty for these. too la-z. anyways, i just learned that i'm losing dead week to a battlebots related adventure: san diego/fransisco and then miami and then back to ol' purdue in time for finals. urf. it seems to me that volunteering partners are almost as good at avoiding me as i am at avoiding work. that's pretty good in case you weren't sure.

whelp, there goes another week without actually getting any service done. i had service down and ready to go on tuesday morning till the afternoon but by some twist of fate i slept for 16 hours instead. that was exactly the opposite of what i wanted to do. since i've failed so far to secure hours, i'm going to start doing multiple volunteering opportunities. i'm looking to assist the cities damaged in the storms, i'll be volunteering over spring break... in Miami... and i'm hopefully going to be working with big brothers big sisters or something similar up here. i'm hoping that through all of these opportunities i'll be able to fulfill my hours requirement.
anyways, i'm a little bit intimidated by the poster project, i'm not so handy at photoshop when i have to open the same version over the internet every time, and it keeps crashing because both my computer and the internet in harrisson sucks. i shall persevere, and i can only assume that there are other people in the same boat as me for both service and this poster.

As it turns out, the volunteer job market is tougher than the actual job market. After several weeks of back and forth with Planned Parenthood, I still have no definite answer or result. I have heard a lot of controversial news about Planned Parenthood over the years, and I wanted the opportunity to see what it was actually like from the inside. Also, a couple of my friends wanted to help me out, but there is just no information being transferred... Its just frustrating that wanting to help for free is way harder than getting paid to work. I think the only thing that would delay this whole process more is my new-found ability to procrastinate.
